Today in Australia, women and young people routinely return the lowest results on financial literacy measures, yet gender and age should have no influence at all on an individual’s financial operating capacity.
For some women, traditional role-modelling or a lack of exposure to opportunities to learn how to become financially literate has led them to believe that the management of money and finance is not their domain. Some women may have been actively blocked from developing these life skills. Others still may have opted-out of involvement in money matters as a result of either a lack of confidence, a lack of interest or simply by being caught up in the busyness of life.
Separation from a life partner can present a particularly challenging circumstance for many women, and low levels of financial literacy often contribute further to feelings of disempowerment and discomfort at this time.
Whatever your story, we understand the vulnerability associated with not feeling in control of your financial situation and will work with you with compassion and discretion to strengthen your financial capabilities.
